Montreal, QC, 2024 — One Way was honoured to attend the 2024 Dynasty Gala, a prestigious event celebrating the achievements of Quebec’s Black community. The evening, held at the Théâtre Maisonneuve, brought together renowned artists, musicians and writers for a dazzling celebration.
Jazz pianist Oliver Jones has been awarded the Grand Prix Dynastie for his nearly 80-year and exceptional career. A posthumous tribute was paid to Michael Benjamin, aka Mikaben, with a moving performance by Marco Volcy.
The singer Corneille received a standing ovation when he received the Dynasty Icon Prize for his twenty-year career. Pierre Kwenders and Kaytranada were also recognized for their outstanding contributions to world and international music.
The evening also honored emerging talents such as Täbi Yösha, Musical Revelation of the Year. Stevens Dorcelus and Mia Bleu Voua presented the People’s Choice Award to Émilie Lafortune, creator of culinary content.
Vibrant performances punctuated the Gala Dynastie awards ceremony, paying tribute to the diversity and excellence of Quebec’s Black community.
